Kitchen remodeling in San Mateo
San Mateo is our home base, and we know its neighborhoods, housing styles and permit process well. The city sits at the center of the Peninsula between San Francisco and Silicon Valley, and its homes span a full century of design, from 1920s Spanish revival bungalows near Central Park to modern townhomes at Bay Meadows. That variety is what makes remodeling here so rewarding.
Baywood, Aragon and San Mateo Park
These established neighborhoods west of El Camino Real are known for Spanish revival, Mediterranean, Tudor and Craftsman homes built in the 1920s through 1940s. Kitchens here were often small and closed off. We open them up thoughtfully, preserve arches, coved ceilings and original windows where we can, and add the modern wiring, plumbing and storage these homes need. Inset cabinetry, handmade tile and natural stone feel right at home here.
Hillsdale, Sugarloaf, Laurelwood and Beresford
Many homes in San Mateo's hill neighborhoods and around Hillsdale date from the post-war years through the 1960s. Their single-level layouts are ideal for opening the kitchen to the family room, adding an island and bringing in more light. Clean shaker or slab cabinetry and warm wood tones suit these homes beautifully.
Shoreview, North Central and Downtown
Closer to the Bay and the Caltrain corridor, homes tend to be compact and efficient. We specialize in making smaller kitchens work harder with full-height cabinets, smart corner storage and space-saving appliances.
Bay Meadows, Mariners Island and newer homes
Newer homes and townhomes often have solid bones but builder-grade finishes. Upgrading cabinets, counters, lighting and appliances can transform these kitchens in a matter of weeks. For condos and townhomes, we coordinate with your homeowners association on approvals and work hours.
San Mateo Highlands
The Highlands, an unincorporated area west of the city known for its mid-century and Eichler homes, is permitted through the County of San Mateo. We design kitchens here that honor post-and-beam architecture with clean lines, warm wood and walls of glass.
Kitchen remodeling in Burlingame
Burlingame, known as the City of Trees, is full of character homes on leafy streets, especially in neighborhoods like Easton Addition, Burlingame Park and Ray Park. Many of these Craftsman, Tudor and Spanish revival homes have kitchens that are ready for a fresh layout and better storage. We work with the City of Burlingame's building division and design kitchens that respect each home's period details.
Kitchen remodeling in Hillsborough
Hillsborough's larger homes and generous lots invite ambitious kitchens: chef-ready layouts, scullery or butler's pantries, double islands and professional appliance packages. We work with the Town of Hillsborough's building and planning process and coordinate closely with architects and designers when a kitchen is part of a larger renovation.
Kitchen remodeling in Foster City
Foster City was planned and built largely in the 1960s and 1970s around its lagoons, and many of its homes and townhomes still have their original kitchen layouts. Removing a wall, rearranging the work zones and adding a peninsula or island can make these kitchens feel twice as large. For townhomes and condos, we help with HOA submittals and building permits with the City of Foster City.
Kitchen remodeling in Belmont and San Carlos
Belmont's hillside homes often enjoy beautiful views that a remodeled kitchen can finally take advantage of with larger windows and an open layout. Next door, San Carlos, the City of Good Living, has a lovely mix of older bungalows near downtown and mid-century ranch homes in areas like White Oaks. We build in both cities regularly and handle permits with each local building department.
Kitchen remodeling in Redwood City
From classic homes in Mount Carmel to waterfront homes in Redwood Shores, Redwood City offers a wide range of kitchens to update. We bring the same design-build process, clear pricing and careful craftsmanship to every Redwood City kitchen remodel.
